The frequency is a
significant current parameter. The frequency applies
only to periodic currents. A current is known as
periodical as for an interval T, it finds the same
value. The faster the phenomenon of replication is,
the more the frequency is high.
The frequency F
(expressed in Hertz Hz) is inversely proportional to
the period T (expressed in second s).

The period, the
reverse of the frequency, as for it is expressed ;

In addition to it
makes it possible to classify the current, the
frequency gives a very good indication on its energy
content. Physics teaches us indeed, that the more the
frequency rises, the more transported energy is
significant. The more intense energy is, the more the
heating effects and destroying are to be taken into
account. It is possible to conclude that it is easier
and pain-killer to carry out low frequency currents
than high frequency.
Since the Eighties
with the proliferation of the impulses currents, we
are accustomed to holding account only pulse
repetition frequency a second. This manner of
qualifying a current, makes us lose the energy and
thermal characteristics contained in the impulse.
Below
a periodic impulses current (3 periods).

Still a periodic
current containing of the trapezoidal impulses.

The
two examples above cannot in no case to make appear
the qualities and defects contained in the impulses.
They however have, the same frequency.
